“Music isn't just a pleasure, a transient satisfaction. It's a need, a deep hunger; and when the music is right, it's joy. Love. A foretaste of heaven. A comfort in grief. Is it too much to think that perhaps God speaks to us sometimes through music? How, then, could I be so ungrateful as to refuse the message?”

Music is more than just a melody—it's a lifeline, a comfort in grief, and perhaps even a whisper from the divine. 🎶✨ As Orson Scott Card beautifully wrote: “Music isn't just a pleasure, a transient satisfaction. It's a need, a deep hunger; and when the music is right, it's joy. Love. A foretaste of heaven. A comfort in grief. Is it too much to think that perhaps God speaks to us sometimes through music? How, then, could I be so ungrateful as to refuse the message?” What song always speaks directly to your soul? Drop your favorite track in the comments below! 👇
About this quote
Have you ever felt a melody wrap around your soul during your darkest hours, or lifted you to pure euphoria on a sunlit afternoon? Orson Scott Card reminds us that music is far more than mere background noise; it is a fundamental human need and a sacred language of the heart. When life feels overwhelmingly heavy, a single song can act as a bridge to peace, whispering comfort when words simply fail. It touches the deepest parts of our humanity, reminding us that we are never truly alone in our struggles or our celebrations. Viewing music as a divine message transforms the way we listen to the world around us. Every chord, lyric, and rhythm becomes an invitation to pause, feel deeply, and connect with something greater than ourselves. When we open our hearts to this universal art form, we allow healing and joy to enter our daily lives. Never brush off the profound impact a simple song can have on your spirit—embrace it as the profound gift and guidance it truly is.
