“Our lips met hungrily, and his clever artistic hands wrapped around my hips. A sudden buzz from my regular cell phone startled me from the kissing."Don't," said Adrian, his eyes ablaze and breathing ragged."What if there's a crisis at school?" I asked. "What if Angeline 'accidentally' stole one of the campus buses and drove it into the library?""Why would she do that?""Are you saying she wouldn't?"He sighed. "Go check it.”

About this quote
Life has an uncanny way of interrupting our most magical moments, reminding us that reality is always waiting just around the corner. Whether it's an unexpected phone call, a sudden obligation, or the sheer chaos of everyday life, we often find ourselves torn between the sweetness of the present and the demands of the future. This charming excerpt from Richelle Mead captures that universal human experience: the delicate, sometimes humorous dance between passion and responsibility. Yet, beneath the humor lies a profound lesson about embracing both love and life's inevitable interruptions. True connection doesn't mean ignoring the world; rather, it means navigating the chaos together with a sense of humor and grace. When life 'steals the bus and drives it into the library,' we are reminded to laugh at the unpredictability of our days, cherish the quiet moments of intimacy when we get them, and face whatever crisis comes next with resilience and an open heart.
